Wedding Bells

Twinset and Pearls got married! I’m still coming back down to earth, it was all so dreamlike and surreal. The big day took place at Hidden Valley in Stellenbosch and we all spent the weekend next door at the Webersburg Wine Estate. The Cape Dutch manor house dates back to 1786 and was oh-so -luxurious with a contingent of staff who waited on our every whim. I was one of four "brideslaves" and I loved our dresses by Miss Friday. They were so pretty but comfy and suited all our different body types. The bride wore a French Lace confection by Robyn Roberts and she was a vision. Our hair was done by Savas and our make up was by Mac. The ceremony was very emotional with the groom tearing up when he saw his braid-to-be coming down the aisle which then made me shed a few tears. It was very hot on the day so all the female guests got paper parasols and the men got fedora hats. The reception was held at the Overtura restaurant and the decor was gorgeous with a white and coral theme. After the speeches and dinner the newlyweds opened the dance floor and got the party started. The champagne flowed and we danced till 1am when the bar closed and we were all shuttled back to Webersburg where we sat by the pool until the bride was ready for bed at 3am. We had to undress her because there were so many teeny tiny buttons down the back of her dress there was no way Jems could do it. It really was a fairytale wedding and seeing the depth of their love for one another made me realise that I want what they have or nothing. I’m not in my twenties anymore, I can’t just date for fun. Wish me luck. X
